Technical Summary: GSA# GS-30F-0013N
Robotic vehicle designs to detect and delete IEDs, plus support military and commercial operations based on modifications to commercial-off-the-shelf designs
INTRODUCTION*
As the techniques being used to emplace Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) are evolving, there is emerging a growing need for a system capable of remotely removing rubble, which might be covering/concealing these devices and clearing paths to these devices, which might otherwise be inaccessible. IED weapon systems are being buried deeper and placed under heavy loads, thus making it very difficult if not impossible for current IED detection/deletion systems to expose the threat.
Over the test period these vehicle units performed at 100% capacity and exceeded each of the Key Point Parameters( KPPs) to detect and delete IEDs.
*Taken from the Statement of Work and the Final Report
The vehicle design shown, and the variations listed within this document, serve as an immediate set of tools to add to existing systems and thus assist our Soldiers to detect and delete IEDs.
U.S. Patent Nos. 7,267,354, 7,275,459, 7,565,941, and Patents Pending.
